Default Splicing in a different pump for Tunze ATO?

My Tunze Osmolator pump quit, and I'm wondering if I can just splice the power wire in from one of my Maxi-Jet 900's? I have 4 laying around not being used at the moment...

This is the end of the connection from the osmolator pump:

It won't work. You would need a relay switch to convert the DC voltage to AC. Tunze sells such a device or you can DIY one.

Roger had this to say "The osmolator now uses 11V we have used 9V-12V through the years. The pump lasts longer and uses less power at 9V but with 12V it pumps more and typically in the mA ratings we need it is easier to find 12V power supplies."

wait, I didn't quite get that, are you saying that the osmolator driver is now 11v? I want to use the Tunze to pump water from a remote RO reservoir in my basement when it's done because I don't trust float switches, but I haven't been able to find a way to hook it up to a pump powerful enough to move water that far. I was told it wasn't possible at all to do with the Tunze unit, but from the sounds of it, it is?

Oh wow, that's totally brilliant. That just solved easily the biggest conundrum I have about my tank set-up. Though, I'm confused by this line in the product description:

"Does not work with pumps having a grounded plug in."

The grammar is wrong enough to not be clear (though likely saying plugs with a ground prong won't work), but the photo shows what appears to be a grounded socket....

And if you are interested in a Tunze replacement pump I happen to have a brand new one. It came with my ATO but I don't use it. I am hooked up directly to well water with a solenoid wired to the ATO.

Thanks everyone!
