Just took a look at my tank this morning and it looks like my candy cane is melting. Any ideas?

pH is 8.3. I am due for a water change, so I'll do that next. Now that the lights are on and its inflated again it doesn't look so bad.

no big thing. !!

mine do this all the time,

what is hapening is that as you se something dangeling (as you say melting) it is dropping polyps.

I have lotsof new once this way.

thy eventually let go and drift on the botom a bit, if you scoop it up, you have a new one (not propegated by taking branches off, but by nature)

the mother colony always stays ok,it is locking funny, but so far I had lots of new candy's from it

Keep us posted, as I've never seen that happen before, either, just by them splitting into two from one "mouth".
Let us know how it goes for your new "frag".
