Several months ago my wife and I saw a worm as you describe.

I tried to suck it up with a turkey baster, part of it was hanging on in a hole. I lost it and it quickly sucked into the live rock completely.

I held the baster over the hole and kept squeezing and releasing, basically trying to plunge him out.

I gave up after about 30 seconds and watched. The worm came half way out, coiled over like a snake preparing to bite. Then it straightened out and released a fluid into the water. I seem to remember it being a pinkish white fluid. It retreated back to the live rock and I have not seen it since.
