Default My cheato died :(

So why would my cheato die?
I have a grow lights made to grow plants i bought from RONA (60w) on a chamber in my sump. I also have some red algea in there (which also looks like its dieing) The light is on when the sun is down. aprox 10-12hours a day.

What could be causing my cheato to die off? There isnt much surface agitation where these guys are, its right next to the filter sock where my return comes in.

Do you have any biopellets or other nutrient reduction systems on the tank? Could be that you don't have enough nutrients to keep them thriving.

No BIO Pellets yet, I was going to get some though.
So what you are saying is my system is running lean?

I do have pulsing xenia in there, is that going to die next?
