Default prep carbon with boiling water

Anyone use this procedure for prepping their carbon ? :Rinse well, then cover with near boiling water and let sit for 24 hrs, then rinse with RO/RI or let sit for 10 min then put in RO/RI for 24 hrs (read various methods). Its suppose to improve the absorption rate by a fair amount.

I personally don't... I am a Zeovit system, and just use either Kent or Seachem carbon. I rinse and then soak for 4-8 hours in RO water, then rinse again and put in tank.

I just stick it in RO/DI water and put it in the microwave for 5 minutes, then rinse once more with RO/DI and run it right away. I haven't noticed any difference from before. I used to just rinse once and use it.
