Default Green Birdsnest polyps white??

When i got my frag a few months back the polyps were green as they should be but now they all are almost completely white i don't understand why. The polyps are always extended and the frag is growing like mad i can see the growth everyday. Too much light?? It is under 6 ati t5's and is placed about 8 inches down from the surface of the water.

Corals can change their colors for whatever reason (lighting, flow, etc). They're animals after all they adapt to their environment the best way they can, and being that they can't move they adapt either by changing color or changing shape.

i had the same problem with a certain type of green polyp from WF. looked exactly like yours and than purchased some off of coral master and prefered that piece. could just be the coral, than again you could try dropping it to a lower position and seeing if that works. besides that it looks happy

Yah this one is from coral master i have thought about moving it down a bit to see what might change but im just experimenting with how effective my lights are i put an acro frag on the bottom to see if it would continue to flourish or go brown. If it does good i will move the birdsnest down as i know they don't require quite that much light.

So no change but it still continues to grow grrrrr. My gsp also acts odd the polyps extend some days and others it stays closed all day??? Overall the tank still seems healthy and all my tests are good but there must be something i am missing.
