Question 1st Sps idea?

Um thinking about getting my first sps, I'm deciding between a birdsnest and a acro. Which is better? Any other ideas?

I have a 35 gallon tank with a 250W MH.

Acros are a huge family you need to single it down to what species. For a 1st acro I reccomend the Millepora. You cant go wrong with either corals.

Yeah a milli is one of the easier ones deffinetly! Birdsnest are cool. You could do a hydnophora but would hate it later :P

Oceanic corals have some nice frags and I am not certain but they have a couple easy starter ones with great color.

I say go with the birdsnest or possibly a montipora of some sort(digitata, samerensis, capricornis)..... these are lower light requiring and more tolerant of water conditions....usually cheaper too...good ones to "dabble" with...

I'm with fencer. Montipora are a lot more forgiving and in my opinion a safer first purchase. Also, dont go out and buy some rare, limited edition, unique, ultra... anything. Just get a simple frag for $5 or something so that you dont lose a lot of money if it happens to die.

I just bought a Poker Star off Red Coral for $15 bucks. "rare, limited edition, unique, ultra... anything" dont have to be expensive when your buying frags.
