Unhappy Checker board wrass ate my hermits

Hi everyone
i have had a checker board wrass for about three months now and decided to add some blue knuckle hermits .the problem is that i could only find some that were a little on the small side.and when i added them my wrass picked one up hit it against the tank and them spit it out and off to the next and them the next . Is if eating them . Do i need to buy larger ones .is this even normal.

eh. hermits are overrated anyways. Wrasses, especially the larger species, are carnivores after all; this sort of thing happens. I'm sure there's a size refugium for hermits and other arthropods relative to the size of the wrasse but what that is, I have no idea. Do you have a role that absolutely needs to be filled by hermit crabs? if not, then don't worry about it.
