Default Damaged Open Brain

One of my open brain corals got nuked by a neighboring mushroom. The part that was damaged has turned brown. The rest of the brain is still a nice green. Is the brown part dead? Will it, in time, turn back to green, or is it permanently damaged? tia.

I had this happen with a torch coral over the period of a few days. I didn't notice anything until the brain wasn't expanding anymore and looked like a colourfl skelton. I moved it away from the torch and saw that the tissue was dead with skeleton exposed. I kept it in normal flow and light conditions and it has since repaired itself. There's some minimal scarring, but it seemed pretty resilient.

Just keep it clear of any other things that can can harm it and it should get better.
