Dumb question regarding scrapers.....and scratches
Is there a good - better - best for these? My tank is 2 feet deep and I find it hard to get right down there sometimes to clean properly and effectively with my 2' blade cleaner I use. It is a glass aquarium with starphire on the viewing sides. Is there a particular brand to stay away from due to scratching or is it all technique?
I have a small scratch (I think likely due to LR coming into contact)...is there anyway to fix it?

I personally just used disposable razor blades from HD ($10 for 1000) and my hand.
Problem is you need to replace blades often to avoid scratches and using brands specific to aquariums can get expensive. You could also try the plastic version which is made for acrylic, you won't be able to scratch the glass with it but it will be harder to use. I don't think there's a big secret to it, just common sense and attention to detail. Others might be able to recomend other products but I don't think anything is full proof.

I use a Mag Flip, it is a combination scraper and the ever popular Mag Float cleaner... It works great, with a tank that is almost 3 feet high, I cannot use the ole razor blades.
And I do have a extra, brand new one... JL Aquatics sells them for $40, I will let it go for $25 if anyone wants. Calgary and area only please. This has never been used and still is sealed, it was a gift, but I already had one. http://www.jlaquatics.com/product/cl...m+Cleaner.html

The Easy Blade is bar none the best scraper out there IMHO:

I use a mag cleaner for a quick daily clean on the front and side panes. You do need to make sure that it doesn't touch your sand however because it can pick up a grain or two and cause scratches. Once you get any calcerous algae on the glass the mag floats aren't effective and you need to use a scaper of some make.
