Nice a Canon REBEL XSi, not a Nikon but a good choice

Watch your iso it's getting a little high, you can use a tripod for coral shots (water flow off) and for fish use a smaller f number if available. If not maybe looking into a fast prime lens like a 35 or 50mm or whatever Canon makes

Thanks for the info. Would like to get a few more lenses for the camera. Just don't have the money right now for it. Also want to learn how to use the camera better before I do so.

I've been shooting the Rebel T1i. In order to get what I liked out of it I had to increase the default saturation and contrast levels in the camera. Out of the box, the camera seemed well adjusted for portraits...but too flat and not suitable for scenics or coral/fish shots. I bet the Rebel XS(i) is similar.

Sure...you can always fix the images later, but the camera was clearly shooting images with less contrast and saturation than I prefer so was easier to just change the camera.

Those Aussie Gold Torches are showing up all over the place now! They are awesome! I have one too.

You have some very nice corals!
