Question Cooling Controller

I'm looking for some cheaper controller options for cooling my tank. I'd like to find a controller that I can set to turn my fans on when a certain temperature in my tank is reached. My tank is pretty well automated and this is the last thing I need to control a little better.

Right now I have a fan on a timer that turns on when my Halides come on and turns off when the Halides go out. This option currently leaves me reasonably dissatisfied as it over-cools in the winter and doesn't do enough cooling in the summer.

Right now the cheapest option I can find is the Ranco.

Which I can get shipped to me for $99 US. I'd like to find something a little less expensive if I can. Mseepman was helping me search this morning and came across this (thanks Mark!):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:RTQ:US:1123

Which is perfect price wise but it unfortunately only works for heating. Anybody have any other ideas?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hey Kevin,

Just spotted this one on Ebay.....http://cgi.ebay.ca/Ranco-Commercial-...3A1|240%3A1318

Maybe it won't skyrocket before bidding ends.

I have a thermostat/controller for an iceprobe; and the ice probe too!

Look it up and see if it might work for you. I'll give you a real good deal if you're interested in it as a package.

I can't tell for sure but, looking at pictures of the controller, it looks like it's made especially for the iceprobe. I think, it doesn't even look like it has a proper outlet to plug a fan into.

The iceprobe is way to small for my tank, but I'd take it off your hands if the controller could run a fan. Please feel free to investigate (since you can tell better than I can from just looking at pictures).

Thanks!
