Default PC Fan controller

Has anybody attempted this project. Seems like a economical way to DIY a controller for fans and heaters.

I don't think the controller you refer to has a thermistor to control the on and off, more or less looks like a fan speed controller.

I was contemplating hacking one of the digidoc units to control a heater and a fan/chiller using relays.
