Default Setting up my 150 gallon tank....question re: RO/DI cleaning

Just started to run a Captive Purity RO/DI. TDS meter reads 172 in and 000 out. That sounds good. Two questions: There is already a brownish colour in my DI chamber (about 1/2 at the bottom). Is this normal? And, how often would you routinely clean out the sediment, carbon, Di and membrane cartridges and is it cleaned with tap water or it's own produced water?

Thx, len

The prefilter set should be replaced every six months. This protects the membrane from chlorine damage. The DI is good for approximately one year.

The membrane is good for three to five years. When production rates drop significantly, usually this indicates the filters need replacing.
