Has anyone ever used boyds chemi pure or seachems deniyrate,nitrates are 20ppm,they were 40ppm did major water changes brought it down to 20ppm.cut down on feeding,and biload,gave away 3 fish.Any other ideas?

I have used Chemi pure in all my systems for the last 18 years, I don't know how much of a difference it makes but my water is allways crystal clear, nitrates are undetectable and I have had a number of specimens live 10+ years. I also maintain low bioloads and limit the amount of food I put into the system. I am sure it contributes to the success but by how much I don't know.

thanks for the quick reply,just wondering if chemi pure replaces using carbon too or do you also carbon

I do not use carbon, never have. I think that chemi pure contains an activated carbon as part of the ingredients. Powell River is pretty small as you know. I may very well know your parents, If you are ever in town feel free to stop by.
