Unhappy can wood put inside the SW tank?

Anybody has experience put some wood inside the SW tank?
I have some beautiful wood that I pick up from the side of lake. I think the wood had been in the water for a long time, have a good shape. I put it in the water for 6 months, and keep change water every month.
Is safe to the live stock put it into the new set up sw tank?
I believe that is a roof of pine tree.

thank you!!!

The one thing you have to watch with adding wood is the fact that it will break apart bit by bit and that will dirty your water. The wood may also leach out stuff into your water for a while and the leached out stuff may contaminate your water.

Definately not in a saltwater tank....possibly in a freshwater, but if it's pine it may still leak sap for years to come. Sorry

If it's a really nice piece you can always put it in a flower garden?

It would be a shame to waste.
