Default Mysid Shrimps

As mentioned, I have an infestation of mysid shrimps all of a sudden. Never use to see these but now I shine the tank with a flash light and they are everywhere.

Here's a small video of a few zipping along the bottom of the sand. It may not look like much to you. But its the first time I've seen them so its pretty neat for me. They scatter pretty quickly after I turned on the smartlite so only a few remain for the video. I don't have a refugium so its amazing that they've survived the large number of predators in my tank and the Aquaclear.

Shocked the heck out of me the first time I saw mine. Pretty cool I thought. Plenty in the tank at night, but I also have a hang on skimmer that they have migrated to as well. There are quite a few in there. Always gives me a bit of a perk to see them racing around looking for food.

Cheers
Steve
