Default Which return pump is the best?

I did good on my report card, so my mom told me she'll buy me something fishy.
So i decided it's time to put my reward to use and get a return pump.
but i can't decide which one to get.
Alot of people have mags, but at the same time alot of people say they are loud and die easy.

so i need some opinions. I need a return pump that goes about 500gph.
It needs to be VERY quiet as the tank is in my room.
Oh, and it has to last.

so please, tell me what you think is the best return pump.
i would really appreciate it.

I recommend the Eheim 1260 for approx 500 gph at about 4' head height. Very quiet esp if you put a small piece of foam underneath. Their reliability is probably one of the best in the industry.
i don't recommend the mags either - seems to be hit and miss with noise with them.

I find that Mag pumps put a lot of heat into you system.

I have had a Eheim 1250 running on my CA reactor for over 6 years 24/7/365 no problems.

Others to consider are Quiet Ones and Sedra.

What is this "good" report card thing you speak of. And "rewards" what is that about? Oh oh dwelling up those dark feelings of parental negligence again, "drink drink"!

My Poseidon kicks butt. I'd recommend those to anyone. I'm a fan of the inline pumps, not so much the drop ins.

Ditto ^
I have a Poseidon they're quite - but they add some heat to the system about 1C.
