Default Vacation in Mazatlan

We are heading off on a week long holiday to Mazatlan without the kids!!! First time hubby and I have snuck away since starting a family 4 years ago. Need I say more!~ We are really looking forward to some much needed R&R!
Anyone have any advice on "stuff" to do, places to go, places to eat or other?
Unfortunately I don't think the snorkelling is any good on the pacific side! But a little sun, ocean and NO kids should still be well worth the trip!

Default Vacation in Mazatlan

Avoid the "Sharks" (Timeshare sales) those guys are everywhere and are very annoying.
Stone Island is a nice tour.
The city tour is just a trap to take you to expensive little shops.
Take a "Pulmonia" Taxi on your own to the city market. Always negotiate a price before getting into any taxi.
The Mexican Fiesta isn't bad.
If you fish this time of year isn't good for deep sea fishing.
There is a little oyster bar down the beach from the Oceano Palace Hotel that is great.
I go to Mexico every year.
Mazatlan was the place I went but its very Americanized.
I bought a little house in La Peņita , about 90 minutes out of Puerto Vallarta.
Its great.

Thanks! We were to Mazatlan last year with the kids but it was anything BUT relaxine a 2 year old and a 1 year old made for an interesting trip.
We have fished and were thinking about it but you say not a good season?
We tend to take Pulmonias and trip on our own rather than tours. Wondering about Stone Island as we di8scussed trying that out. Anything good to see there? Or just relaX?
Will check out the oyster bar thanks!

Default watch your drinks

I went down there with four girl friends. We went to this night club and I had one drink and it was laced with something. Knocked me out cold for 48 hours. It was very scary. My advice is order your beverages and watch who makes them and dont take your eyes off of it. This also happen to another friend of mine.
