Default Algae/Aragonite Question

During last nights water change, I took a layer of algae off the top of my aragonite sand bed.

My question is; even though there are still some signs of this algae on the sand bed. Am I still okay to put more aragonite on top of this? I was also wondering if this would be somewhat helpful in the getting rid of this algae by smothering the layer is sits on?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Barrett

Covering over a little algae shouldn't hurt but wouldn't use it as a control method.

Need to get to the cause of the algae and fix it.
