Hi all
Paul over at Paul's Aquarium was sent these "sand snails" instead of fighting conches
Does anyone know of them, and if so are they reefsafe and non toxic
Any info would be thankful
Maybe I should contact "the doctor"

Rich, Dr. Shimek will nail that in a second, good pictures. My bet is some kind of predator but of what, I don't know.

Yeah your right Troy , I sent a pic to "the doctor" last night and this is what he had to say:

Quote:
Hi Rich,

The snail is Mitra mitra. These are predatory animals that would decimate a sand bed, eating the worms found in it, that are necessary for the proper functioning of the bed.

They will not eat corals nor will they likely venture on to the rock.
Many thanks Doc!
