Default Island diving

Just wondering if any of the Islanders here are into scuba diving? My fiancee' is a certified NAUI instructor and will be giving me my open water certification test on an August visit to my brother's place in Parksville. Any recommendations on favorite dive sites would be greatly appreciated!

I am just getting into diving (Almost all geared up too!). Ogden point is great, Mystery Wreck at deep cove is good too. I have only done shore dives so far, but lots of stuff to see. Not too sure what there is up island, but ogden would be worth a drive to see.

Do a night dive at the breakwater, Ogden point. It is unreal, and a little spooky at first.

There are a couple of great dives in Nanaimo. You could alway drop by a dive shop in Nanaimo and see what in in Parksville. I'm sure there will be something

Found this site: DiveVancouver Island

It looks like there is a dive shop in Nanoose Bay.

Just found out they don't do rentals though. Need to go to Nanaimo for that.

I"d suggest that you try to get hold of BC Wolfen on these forums, last I heard, he and his wife were active Nanaimo divers.

Yes he is, but is likely not on here much as he sold his tank (I have 3 of his fish!). There is a great dive forum for 'The Dive Outfitters in nanimo where you can find him: http://forum.thediveoutfitters.ca/
