Well you would never guess what happened last night ,my wife never ceases to amaze me. Well i was babbling to her about trading the tank on some salt water stuff.

Then I was talking about cutting the tank down. YOu know just babbling to her eand her not listening, Well i thought she was not listening. Well it happened she told me.

AH the Heck with it ARE you ready forthis ..
Fill it up with salt water .well i had to look away from here to atch my lungs from dropping out of my body .she told me dont go stupid at first like theother one plan it out ,.

So I'm doing that now

I can't answer the poll, because IME it really depends on the type of fish you are keeping. Obviously live rock is a must, DSB a maybe then - I am running a FOWLR with a sand bed protected by egg crate. However, the portion above the sand is being disturbed constantly.

In my own particular circumstance, I would have opted for a thin layer of larger substrate in retrospect. But I am addressing the need for triggers to pick up/carry/play with stuff....
