Default Deltec Skimmer

Does anyone own a Deltec MCE300 or MC500? If so... how is it? The reason i'm looking for one is they appear to be a higher end skimmer with the smallest foot print and i have a very small space to squeeze it into.

Hey Telford,

I have a Tunze 9015 (their biggest DOC skimmer) and they too have a very small footprint. Deltec are excellent skimmers but you might want to look at the Tunze 9005 as an option.

I've used a variety of Deltec skimmers before & I really liked them.

I currently have a MCE600 sitting around waiting for me to get my a$$ into gear & set up tank.

They're built well, seem to be efficient & in Europe at least, their customer service is second to none.

A couple of years ago, I sent an email to them regarding the noise level on my MCE600 which I bought 2nd hand & they send me a small kit of replacement gaskets & mounts for free.

A friend runs a 500 with no complaints & I've had a couple of in sump models with no complaints.

They're a bit on the pricey side but if you can afford it or can find one 2nd hand then I'd say go for it.

I've also heard many good things about the Tunze DOC Skimmers.
