My girlfriend had the same problem with her 14 gal biocube. Apparently one of the ballasts broke a couple of weeks after she bought it. I'd check if its the bulb or the ballast that's broken. If you've only had it for about a month, it should still be covered under the waranty. Hope this helps.

Default Biocube

My 14g Biocube lost a ballast 2 weeks after I got it, and then lost each of the cooling fans over the next 6 weeks.

That happens on almost all Biocubes. Did you buy it at a LFS? I bought mine at King Ed Pets, I just brought in the entire top and they fixed it there for me. Much better than waiting weeks, from what I hear can happen if you go straight to Oceanic.

It's covered under warranty. Contact Oceanic via their e-mail address. The toll free number is USA only

I haven't had a problem with anything on my biocube, but have read a million threads about them having ballast problems, the ballasts were made in a certain time period and apparently the problem was supposed to have been fixed.
