Default Question substrate

I just moved from Calgary to Nelson - 7hrs. My fish and coral are all doing great. However they are ready to go back in the tank and I am unsure about the sand. It has sat for just under two days. Is it safe to just dump into the tank or should I give it a rinse? treat it? and if so how?
Tx.

welcome to the kootenays!!
how old is the sand? i'd look to rinse the sand and get rid of the build up of crud.
if your interested i could introduce you to some of the local reefers
