Check this out. a 990 pound squid was caught. It was about 39 feet long.

I saw part of a documentary on these guys. They`re humbolt squid aka `red devils.` You shoulda seen it, they had video of them in action. They can actually flicker from red to white and sometimes do it in synch... and no one knows why. Oh and they`re vicious cannibals. The fishers would hook one and by the time they had pulled it up, only the tentacles would be left. It was freaky.
