Default White PVC pipe

Hi, stupid question, but can you use normal pvc glue when glueing the white pvc pipe for bulkheads and plumbing on a salt or freshwater tank? If not, what do I use?

Thanks,

Carl

You should be fine using the PVC glue, just make sure every thing is nice and dry before you put water throught it, basicly all that glue does is melt the pipes together.

Agreed- normal PVC glue is fine. But if you are gluing PVC to bulkheads you may need to use a different glue for PVC and ABS, as that's what bulkheads tend to be made of. You'll find this glue right next to the PVC glue at any Home Depot or Rona.

I forgot about bulk heads, thats right, When I plumbed my tank to a sump I just used a little silocone around the bulk head after screwing in a small extension, I found it was eiseier to screw the extension in then having to glue it all together. Made it easier when I had to take the tank down.
