Default MH Bulb Replacement

Okay.. after only 6 months of running my Coralife 150HQI bulbs looks like they need changing. Can anyone recommend a better 10K bulb that will perform better.

Yeah the Hamilton 14k is pretty nice. Coralife bulbs totally suck.. anything would be a step up I'd say.

I plan on ordering from J&L... What really frusterates me about the Coralife in addition to their short spectral life is some days (most days) the bulbs look realy yellow and other days they look very white almost to the point that I dont need to run my actinics. Anyone else experience the same problems with Coralife bulbs?

For 10K, nothing beats XM bulbs for best bang for the buck.

I never noticed that with my Coralife 10k's , but I never used them for more than two weeks. Mine too, were very yellow.. I couldn't stand them, got rid of them right away. I have since upgraded from 150w to a 250w Geiesmann pendant.

I'm using Reeflux bulbs (10,000k) & very happy with them. Both DE & SE. Very white with hint of blue colour. Corals also colour up nicely under them & I don't bother with actinics anymore.

Anyone try the Ushio 10K? Looks like all J&L have listed on their site are the Coralife and Ushio 150W HQI
