Default Lakes West of Edmonton?

I just got a canoe and am eager to paddle my ass around a lake, anybody know of some lakes west of Edmonton?

The closer the better, but if they are really nice could go further and camp.

Hubbles Lake by stony plain is a great little lake. Very clean and no motor boats aloud.

Hubbles Lake and Hasse, I will check them out thanks.

I am training my dog to be a boat-dog so I want to stay away from rivers for now but eventually I want to do some river trips, sounds like fun.

Lac la biche, has cabins near it just north of town, a guy named Deisle owns the place, its a great place to stay cheap too. and if u like to fish Hart lake isnt far and its infested with pike. no joke every single cast you will catch a 4 foot pike. my dad and i last year caught 100 pike in one hour combined.

Lac la biche is a great place, they have a really neat campground/park where you have to cross a land bridge to get to it. It is 2 hours away, good for staying overnight on a weekend but a bit far for a day trip.

I can only find reference to a Hart lake in BC, do you mean Heart lake, which is NE of Lac la biche?

Elk Island Park, east of Edmonton, is a great place to canoe. Not too far away, either.
