I have been using them for a year and a half now and I really like them. I haven't tried out a ton of bulbs so my opinion is a little biased I suppose, but they give a really nice crisp white light with enough blue to please the eye.

I've seen EmilyB's tank and imo, the phoenix DE bulb is one of the best colored bulbs. Just enough blue to make the corals pretty.

I was really pleased with the color as I don't have much for actinic. I'm not real certain how the corals like it tho. Not much growth lately. (The bulbs are less than a year old.) But that could be other factors.

Mine are one powered with a M80 and the other with an Icecap. Color wise they appear the same to the eye.

I've used Hamilton 14k, AB 20K, and now Pheonix. I must say Pheonix is the brightest blue/white bulb on eletro ballast I've experienced. For value, color, and intensity that this bulb is I will be lighting my tanks with these for a while. Where's the sale on these bulb?
