Default Open Brain feeding

Have a small open brain (3-4 inches long), which seems to take frozen mysis okay (thawed in tank water). They're pieces and whole, but wondering if should be blending to pulp first?

Nope. It should be fine what you are doing. That's how I feed my open brain corals. Also give them finely chopped up prawn or scallop occasionally.

Feed our brain the same way. We also turn the jets off for a few minutes so it can stuff itself. some of the small fish like to try and steal some of the food.
