Default Test kit ?

I have a Iodine/Iodide seachem test kit that I cant seem to figure out. I tried the control first as it suggests but I do not get any colour change. I also tested the water with no change in colour. Posible bad kit maybe?
Thanks for any advice
Marcus

Does it have an expiration date on it?

Maybe no iodine? It gets skimmed out fairly quickly, and animals consume it pretty good too... clams, shrimp... most corals... most successes seem to come when kept at a range of .06 - .08 ppm. My Seachem kit has a reference solution to validate the test kit as well...

I can't see a Exp. date, and the problem is that the reference solution does not change colour. So I can't test the water.
