...however blocked by Stripey Pants who can't be photographed unless you are trying to photgraph something else. He can give some size perspective I guess... The sebae anemone must be approaching 14 inches, and isn't even fully expanded here. It is becoming a monster, such that I wouldn't recommend the sebae, for an additional reason now. If they DO thrive, you will need an enormous environment for them.

Yup, totally agreed on that one. In fact, it seems just about any anemone species, if thriving, gets just enormous given enough time. I was just about to add to that, "with the possible exception of BTAs" but then I had a second thought -- even they can get exceptionally large if they want to (I have seen 20" specimens of BTA, although I think those tend to be a specific strain or sub-species, but even if not all BTAs get that huge, they can get large nonetheless, and then split, and then you can have multiple large BTAs in a tank, and unless you're prepared to unload the splits you will be wishing you had an enormous setup for them..)

Mind you, to me, there is little less exciting to see a fantastic specimen of anemone. I just saw Stichodactyla gigantea for real (not a photograph) the other day. I am so, so, mad at myself for not bringing my camera. :( Oh well, c'est la vie....

BTW, thanks for the picture. Looks very nice!

That's awesome. The clown is stunning too. Glad to see he's doing well.

Magnificent specimens Emily. Its a good thing that these things don't like to move much isn't it???

How big is that LTA?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thank you. Originally, they both wanted the center of the tank. So the LTA moved once....he said "OKAY you monster sebae, I defer to your most incredible supremacy..." :D

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Maybe 10". Hasn't really changed much in the past year, had it for four years now. It has a resident porcelain crab that's been in there over a year. I'll have to get a pic. (I'll take my time.....I'm way too impatient to get a good photo sometimes). It also doesn't appear to bother corals like the sebae. In fact it is resting against a leather in the pic, the leather is just growing away from it with no visible damage.
