Well last night i had a healthy emerald crab and tonight he was laying on the bottom (dead) legs up and looking the same color as coroline algea I have had it for a few months and no problems the only thing is i can say that was different with the tank was the temp it went to about 82 ish and i threw in a frozen shrimp for the local store last night as a treat for all.
I had something like this a couple months ago when i lost 3 zebra crabs same situation minus the temp problem due to me not having lighting. any suggestions ?? |

is it possible that the shrimp is causing an ammonia spike?

You are sure it wasn't a shed ? The sheds look very much like the real thing with emeralds. I was convinced it was the dead crab, until it reappeared all shiny and new.

I agree... the molts can look just like dead crab... did you take it out and examine it... but maybe it just died
