Sand
I have a 90G tank that has about 4 inches of live sand in it. The tank dimensions are 48 long by 18 deep by 24 tall. Any idea how many pounds of sand 4 inches would be in a tank that size?

No sand Try going bare bottom. Cheaper for starters, and lets you siphon out the detritus whenever you do weekly water changes
One of these weeks, I'm going to photograph all the crud we get out of one of our tanks. You'd be stunned into going with no sandbed |

I had 220lbs of sand in my tank at about 6" deep so 3 cu^ft is about 220 lbs so yours is the same but only 4" deep so about 2 cu^ft..... about 150ish lbs.

sand
I'm actually moving in July and want to get rid of the sand I have and go bare bottom so I was just wondering how much I do have so I can tell people in case someone wants it.
Thanks for all your replies.
