Default electonic ballast not overdriving??

so..I guess it doesn't work for all electronic ballasts? I have a "standard" fluorescent ballast and no matter how many leads I put to a bulb it burns the same brightness

is that some internal regulator or something to prevent me from blowing myself up?

any ideas?

the ballast has 2 red wires, 2 blue, and 2 yellow. the red/blue wires are the leads.

perhaps if i wire them in series?

Are you sure that's an electronic ballast? The wire outs and the label don't look like it to me.. Is it fairly heavy?
All the electronic ballasts I'm familiar with have the power in (usu. white/black) and a series of "hot" leads to the lamps, and then a single common ground which connects to the other end of all the lamps.

If it's an electronic ballast, it should work. If it's not, I think you can still overdrive but there's some crazy series wiring necessary to do it.

Also, are you absolutely sure the bulbs are lighting at the same brightness with every configuration? I know when I was overdriving some NO t12 tubes I could swear they were the same, but when I wired one at NO and another at 2xODNO I could *just barely* notice a difference in light intensity.

Looks like a normal ballast to me.

it says it is :|

I was playing around with my WH7 ballast before i hooked it into my canopy and there was a huge difference between 1 hot wire and 2, and 2-3 hot wires..a very very noticable difference.

Did a google search and it looks like it's designed to drive T8's not T-12s. I have no idea how much difference there is other than the size of the tubes.

yea, it's the f32t8s that i'm trying to overdrive. t8 ballasts will run t12s no problem, but not usually the other way around..I'm guessing the t8s take more voltage to illuminate than t12s. but I am trying to overdrive the t8s :| i'm gonna play around with it some more today, maybe try them in series or something...if you don't hear from me I'm in the hospital with severe electrical burn, luckily the hospital is only 3 blocks away and my gf works there

in series has seemed to work I guess the wh7 ballast just has mucha more punch than the 'ol 4xt8. it's not overwhelmingly bright, but it's brighter
