Default rainbow slate

can use rainbow slate in a reef tank. I want to user it to make shelves in my tanks. I dont see a reson why not just want to check before I buy some.

you could do a few tests, try drop a small chunk in viniger and see if it fizes, if it does don't use it as that means it is desolving stuff into the water. the next test would be to put a chunk in a small take of salt water with a power head and heater and wait a few weeks and test for iron, phosphates, silicates and see if it is adding any to the water. If not I would say go ahead and use it.. might look cool for the bottom of a bare bottom tank also.
