Default Advice wanted for new shallow build

Hi all I'm going to be setting up shallow long tank as a small upgrade from my 10 gallon nano.

The tank I have is 40"L x 14"D x 12"H about 29 gallon. I was wanting to keep the sight of equipment etc to a minimum so will be using a sump (looking for a 20 gal long) but I don't want to have an overflow box so was just going to use 2 x 1" bulkheads with these strainers http://www.jlaquatics.com/dry-goods/...er-1-inch.html and two 1/2" inflows.

My question is would it be best to have the bulkheads both in the center and an inflow at either end or one bulkhead at each end and the inflows towards the middle?

I have 16" long Chinese led fixture that will go over it and am keeping sps as well as lps, zoas etc..

1 of 2 things will generally happen when you dont have an overflow box.

1. you flood your floor
2. It will be extremely noisy

why not just do a low profile overflow box in the corner?

also you'll want a longer light

The only way I see it flooding is if both overflow strainers get blocked at the same time.

I would put airline into the overflow kinda like a durst to reduce noise and back siphoning.

I'm cheap 😊 (or rather I don't want my wife freaking out), it would have to be a really low profile and inexpensive, if you know of any let me know.

Regarding the lighting. I do get a lot of spill with it over my 10 gallon. The new tank is twice as long. I was planning to place the sps directly below the light and then go out from there with light preference to low light species further away. I also only have the light at 30% white and 50% blue and am growing some sps now.
