Default cutting glass

Has anyone one ever cutt 5/8" before. this is my problems i'm wanting to take down the tank the 280 gal 72x30x30. I want to cut it down to 72x20x20 but i have never cut 5/8's before i can cut 1/4- 1/2 but you know .

will it be hard to do. i was thinkink of putting a blanket over the glass and stepping down on it to help with the cut in the glass. like lay it on a piece of plywood and have another beside it where the cut is and then step down easy on it.

any thoughts

mike
