Reefkeeper help again!

So I have everything set up but I am having a hell of a time calibrating salinity and orp! Orp concerns me less, but the salinity probe is way off. I've tried almost everything then noticed that it must be reading interference from other devices in my sump... Same water reads 40 points higher in the sump vs not... Is this normal?
