Default Evil Clown knife

Help my clown kife is killing everything. Yestuday it somehow killed an Oscar three times its size. Also it killed all my catfish. My tank is 120 gallons.

Please don't take any offense, but I agree with aznufo, you should have done your research before you got a clown knife. Unfortunately thats how clown knife fish can be. They can grow up to lengths of up to 3 feet... and imo, a 120gallon is a bit too small for one clown knife. I would go with a 180gallon tank. Generally, they should be kept alone. They've been known to kill fish larger than they are (as you saw)... not to mention fish that are the same size or smaller.

There's nothing much you can do... either find someone who can take in your clown knife, or get it (or the other fish) another tank.

Sorry about your loss.

Ouch i feel for your loss. Now here is what to do. Buy 8 piranahs and dont feed them buggers for a week. Place the clown knife with the prianahas so there is nowhere to hide. This will fix ur knife fish. lol nah that would be mean. Knife fish have quite the personality (well the one at my lfs does) i would keep it.

I did get quite a bit of research. On the other hand my friends get along fine and he has a smaller tank. My knife fish is still my favorite fish I have ever had.

Default clowmknife

the trick is to keep him well feed ! this can also be hard on your pocket book! I had one 20" long and he ate at least 15 large silversides every day,& I had him in with a oscer, a needle nose , angle, pleco,& a cat fish in a 100G tank with no fighting But who knows? Mine is now at the Vancouver Aquarium ,switched to SW
