Default Dropping 1 DKH per day

Is it possible that my DKH could be dropping 1 per every 24 hours.

I've been keeping closer track to it and thats how it looks according to my hanna checker.

Im having to add 50mL of alk solution to raise it back up. Im trying to keep it at 7dkh but it keeps dropping to 6.

I have a 70 Gallon display tank with SPS, LPS, zoas and 9 clams and a frag tank.

Total water volume is 160 gallons

I used to have to add 130ml/day to a full SPS 125 gallon so that seems reasonable. I think your 9 clams would be the biggest cause of the drop.

Perhaps also check your magnesium. There is a relationship between the two where by Alk can be difficult to maintain if magnesium is low.

I just had to recently start dosing too and I have a 90 gallon and was having to add 60 ml a day and even more now. Make sure you are adding calcium too if you are adding alk. I didn't realize I had to dose both to keep it balanced until I started doing more reading. I have a doser now and love it. I can go away the weekend and it is all taken care of.

same with me, dose only alk, my calcium and magnesium levels are always above recommended. I think it is the biopellet / vodka/ gfo combo that does it but everything looooks dope

+1 proper mag level is helpful to keep alk & cal levels steady. I try and maintain 1350 mag at all times, IO salt has a lower mag level and I always dose additional mag to water changes.

I don't think that is a strategy that will work over the long term...
