Default New Batch of IO Salt WTF???

So went back to IO so i can buffer myself and keep the paramaters the same as my tank on water change day seeing as im dosing now and I dont want to see the big swings. However, this is what i got from my new batch of freshly mixed Instant Ocean salt.

Calcium 450
Magnesium 1640
DkH 8.7

Now WTF i was actually wanting low calcium and magnesium so i can buffer it but this stuff i just got has more then my last batch of reef crystals minus the alkalinity.

I mixed to salinity of 1.026 using refractometer and also rolled and mixed the fresh bucket to make sure nothing has settled. I also tested twice with my Red Sea test ket (has been great and just tested tank paramaters as well and it tested dead on what i would of expected)

Anyone have any explanations or seen similar results??

I stopped using IO a long time ago. Never will I go back. Not one bag, one box or bucket have anything close to the same results. Always off

yeh i expected the results to be different from bucket to bucket but not on the extremley high side like this. The high paramaters were what i was trying to avoid with some of the more expensive buffered salts.

Interesting. I wonder if the IO salt is the cause of my now rising and high PH? Just switched to a new bucket. Well, unopened, but a year old. PH was always 7.8-8 Now it up to 8.47!!!!
