Default Replacement PH Probe

I have an American Marine Pinpoint pH Monitor which requires a replacement PH probe.

Instead of spending $50 for a new replacement for a LFS, has anyone ever purchased replacement PH probes from eBay?

Similar to this one which sells $8USD?

What's your opinion?

I never tried one but that's a heck of a deal if they are accurate.
