Default Kessil A360W

I just bought a custom built 45 gallon cube tank and in the process of building my stand.

I was going to build my own DIY led setup using the Jarduino open source code but had a change of heart. I was at Oceans By Design admiring the Kessil A150 on their smaller show tank - nice clean setup using the goose neck mount.

For my 45g tank, I'm considering the Kessil A360W. Anyone using the Kessil A360W? What do you think of it?

Thank you!

I use an A350 non-wide on my 24" cube. I like the light. The small size and shimmer make it look great over the tank, but I do find myself wishing for the more advanced features of other comparably price lights from AI, Maxspect, and the Radion (for ~$200 more). I know the A360 has a basic level of controllability, so that may address that issue to you. The Kessil's are also very blue lights.

You will be better off doing your own DIY led with focused led arrangements. IMO the kessils are not worth the price tag. The diy seems pretty interesting.
As for lights with limited disco effect the radions (used) are better than a brand new kessil. The controls on the 360w is aight.

Thanks for the replies.

Now I'm not sure. I decided on the Kessil simply because of the clean simplistic package as well as its LED functionality.

I'm now doing some research on the Maxspect 20 1/2" Razor R420R 16,000K fixture.

For the owners of the Maxspect Razor, what's your opinion?

I love mine. I have the 20.5" 16k model. Like you I want controllability. This offers the perfect amount. It doesn't have the fancy crap like thunderstorms and cloud cover, but it offers sunrise/sunset and also peak times for different spectrums.

Not to mention it's sleek and sexy as hell!

I was also looking for a 'full spectrum' light when deciding, and this fits the bill perfectly, with it's mix of Warm Whites.

Check out the evergrow range. I have the it2080 and its a very good lower costing light. Nick over at reef supply Canada can help you out. He's awesome to deal with even if you're just asking questions. It's the only led unit I have hands on experience with so I can't provide any other recommendations unfortunately.

It looks SLEEK!! The hanging kit won't work from my application with 10' ceilings. Looking at the legs.

Can the Razor be controlled using an Apex or equivalent controller?

Thanks!

You can only turn it on and off with it, not dimable with an external controller but it can do sunrise and sunset through the built in controller, check out the maxspect website and look at the mounting lots for the mazarra series, it also works on the razors

I love it My tank was not wide enough to use the legs, but the mounting kit is nice. It also comes with the legs of course, or as spit.fire mentioned, the mounting kits for the mazarra work as well.
