Default NAC-7

I have a new NAC-7 in my set up. I can't get it set right, it just foams over. I cleaned it before use, have it sitting at 10", recommended is 9.5"-11". Its set on max but cant get it to stop foaming over.

Anyone have any thoughts? I talked to another member, same skimmer, same problem. A little further reasearch says 7" is the sweet spot. Or is just because this is a new set up with nothing to skim and it's just freaking out for the moment?

The instructions are in poor broken engrish. Is there something lost in translation that maybe the optimal hight is not 9.5"-11"?

I read that you should be able to leave it at 9.5 to 11 but if you increase the air setting to 4 it will allow more air and less water into the cone. SHould stop overflowing then.

The air setting is at max. There is 1-4 then max, thats where its set now. If I put it at 1 the cup fills with water in seconds. at max it takes 30 sec.

Right now I have the skimmer running with the drain line open returning the water back to the sump. Its been running a week, should be broken in by now.

Mine is also set to 3 and it works well. If I turn it up much more over 3 it overfills quickly. There is 11.5" of water in the sump compartment my skimmer is in and it sits on a 4.5" egg create stand, leaving it (by fluke I might add) at the 7 inch sweet spot.

Here's a pic of when I first got it, it's not running or fully set up in this pic but you get the idea

My sumps a little dirty, compared to Laurie's but here's my skimmer in action. It's set at number 3 and is 10.25" in the water
