Pretty sure it's only for the month. It's like a trophy, once someone else wins it, you give it up. Time to take some new pics and reclaim your prize!!

Indeed. It's more like the Stanley Cup than the Olympics. You don't get to keep the prize. You do get to keep the bragging rights though, so maybe post something in this thread once a month to remind everyone that you were POTM for February 2013.

Yes the way the software works it is exactly like a physical trophy. It is assigned to whomever won the the most recent POTM.
