I think I'm sold, tired of replacing mag floats, cheaper in the long run with just replacing pads on the other.

I was using a scraper and sea urchin for the stubborn coraline algae. The blue linkia and marble starfish help a bit too.

$147 for a magnet is pretty steep. I wouldn't want to spend more than $60

Tiger shark is more than strong enough and it's $100. I recall seeing it at BRS for like $80 or something. Something to consider if you order from them and had an excuse to add a magnet cleaner (won't add on to shipping).

+1 on tiger shark. Very strong but not strong enough to remove coraline.

+2 on the Tiger Shark, I have one for the 165 gal (5/8" glass) and man what a workout you get. This thing is strong, you can hold the outside part 2 - 3" away from the tank & the inside part will still more with it.

I will never buy another Mag Float ever again.

I have both and the mag float isn't in the same league even as a a tiger shark. Just watch your fingers with a tiger as they bite hard! lol

If you had a stronger magnet, the same pad would do more work than with a weaker one no?

Just looked.
I have an extra tiger shark and an extra great white here.
I could ship em if anyone wants to pm a fair offer.
