Default Low VOC Paint: Very Pleased!

We're working on refinishing the floors in our bedrooms, and painting the walls. The work is being done on the same floor as the aquarium. I'm a little freaked out about the whole process, but I'm so impressed with the paint I chose I thought I'd share.

I'm using General Paint's "Z-Coat Enviro-Friendly" paint (http://www.generalpaint.com/catalogu...-Friendly.aspx). It is $55 a gallon (for lighter tints) and worth every penny. The odour is incredibly low. It still smells like fresh paint, but the heavy chemically smell isn't there. There has not been a blip in the skimmer's behaviour. None of us have gotten headaches.

The coverage (in the colour "Endpoint" and the eggshell finish, anyway) is amazing. While a second coat will be required to even out the coverage, ALL of the black marks (that I'd scrubbed and scrubbed at and wouldn't budge) on the wall have disappeared under the first coat. Many of the imperfections and the "overpainted" look of the ~50-year-old drywall have disappeared.

I'm not overly happy with the low VOC coating we used on the hardwood. It is pretty stinky. If we find a better one to use (done one room, two more to go), I'll post about it.
